Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

This South African wildlife rehabilitation centre in Limpopo aims to create awareness around the declining numbers of wildlife species in Africa. Nestled at the foot of the Drakensberg escarpment, this centre acts as a haven for Lion, Leopard, Serval, Lynx, Honey Badger, Wild Dogs, Eagles and Vultures.

The centre cares for animals that have been poisoned or injured and nurse them back to health before releasing them back into the wild. Should an animal not recover well enough to return to its home in the wild, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre continues to care for them and are typically used in educational talks.

When visiting the centre, safari-goers are taken on a tour of the centre, which take place daily at 09:30 and again at 15:00, which includes an introduction to all the species. The 2.5 hour tour may include an encounter with one of the resident species.

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) in Limpopo aims to educate the public on wildlife conservation, as well as to release rehabilitated animals safely into the wild.

With a significant emphasis placed on Cheetah conservation, this endangered species conservation centre in Limpopo releases captive-bred Cheetahs back into the wild.

Visitors to the centre will be able to view the Cheetah, Wild Dog, Lions, African Wild Cats and many other wildlife species on their tour of the HESC. Animals lovers will also find the feeding of rare African vultures exciting, as the raptors feed on carcas remains.
